If area residents are attempting to find a lost pet, please contact the Humane Society of Harrisburg AND to fill out a lost report on the Petco Love Lost website as soon as possible.
Petco Love Lost is a free lost-and-found tool that unifies lost and found pet listings from across the country – including posts from thousands of animal welfare organizations such as The Humane Society of Harrisburg – into one searchable database. The platform uses AI photo-matching technology to help reunite pets by comparing images of lost pets with those of found pets. Accessible to both animal welfare organizations and the general public, Petco Love Lost allows anyone who has lost or found a pet to upload a photo and instantly search for possible matches in nearby shelters or in the community.
If anyone finds a pet, you can look at this website first to see if a lost report has already been posted, possibly returning the pet directly to the family without the need to bring the animal to the shelter first.
